2、System Design Engineer (Intern) Description The system design engineer will be in charge of developing customized test instruments andcomplete test systems to test the electrical performance of Apple products. The ideal candidateis an EE with good scripting skills, and most of all, enjoys shipping a working system instead ofdesigns on paper. Design, troubleshoot and debug electrical functional test equipment such as low noiseaudio signal digitizer, precise current meter, high speed switcher, efficient and fastpower supply, etc Prototype HW test systems for consumer electronics. Propose, review and implement validation plans. Circuit analysis and simulation Provide guidance to PCB layout Data analysis Create and maintain functional test plans, trouble shoot test plan implementation Manage suppliers/manufacturing parters/test development schedule
Requirements BS/MS EE Have design experiences in some of these areas: audio circuit, linear and/or switching powersupply, high speed signal integrity, USB3/DisplayPort/HDMI/MIPI, high precision ADC, ARMbased MCU system programming Must have hands-on experience with bench equipments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies,DMM, electronic loads Must be flexible and capable of handling multi-task operations

The candidate will be expected tolearn the fundamentals of Reliability test method (including set up of testequipment, test design, test data collection, and analysis reporting. Thecandidate need to support research of Reliability Engineers by conductingexperiments and solving interesting technical challenges across all ofApple’s products and modules. This is an internship with a 6 -12 monthtimescale (can be negotiated) and an expected deliverable of a completetraining program.

The candidate will beresponsible for developing and optimizing RF automation testing systems used onApple’s products including iPhones, Macs, iPads, Apple Watch and more for differentwireless technologies.
Key Qualifications Excellent fundamentals and relevant work experience programming in one ormore of C, C++, Objective-C. Working knowledge of Python, Perl or Ruby is aplus. Good working knowledge of RF fundamentals. Good understanding and experience with testing of RF metrics for differenttechnologies. Basic knowledge of RF lab equipment including: spectrum analyzers, vectorsignal generators, power sensors, switch controllers, combiners, etc. Basic knowledge of EE lab equipment including: oscilloscopes, multimeters,power supplies, etc. Basic knowledge of the current wireless RF standards (e.g. Cellular, WiFi,Bluetooth, NFC, etc.) Knowledge or exposure of calibration algorithms is a plus (e.g. Tx power, XO,RSSI, Envelope tracking, IQ mismatch, etc.) Excellent verbal and written English skills. Description Candidate will contribute to a multi-facetted software suite based on C/C++. Candidate will develop new features to improve the RF automation testingsystem. Responsibilities Lead cross-functional communication between Apple Internal project teams and externalvendors.
